MAGIC FESTIVAL 2011
On 17th and 18th June 2011, magicians and their friends returned to Uherské Hradiště after more than twenty years. The civil association Arcanus in cooperation with the Culture Club Uherské Hradiště organized the II. magic festival Adell Magic Fest 2011. The general partner of the festival was the joint stock company Adell Trading.
The Adell Magic Fest started on Friday in the morning, when two magic performances were watched by children from kindergartens and primary schools. Pavel Křižan, Bublín the clown, Šeklin the magician, Magic Alex and Julius Nemeš performed magic for the children. Both shows were hosted by Jiří Hadaš. In total, over 500 children attended these performances.
Friday's programme continued in the afternoon with an accompanying event for the public called Magic Square, which took place in the centre of the town on Masaryk Square. This was a promotion of the festival and a teaser for Saturday's magic at the Culture Club. The biggest attraction for the public was a blind ride performed by Josef Poncza in a car borrowed from Araver CZ. Together with the regional daily, we set a Czech record in balloon modelling, when a total of 291 registered persons shaped a balloon animal in one moment at the same place, which was confirmed by the present notary JUDr. Libuše Kučerová, who added that far more people took part in the shaping than managed to register within the time limit. The programme also included performances by Magic Alex, Bublín the clown, Šeklin the magician, Mišuge the magician, the dance school Katya and children from the children's home in Uherské Hradiště with the Smurfs programme. The Magic Square was moderated by Jiří Hadaš.
Friday evening was dedicated exclusively to magicians and invited guests, for whom a professional seminar by Tom Gryf was prepared. The seminar turned non-violently into a friendly gathering, which, judging by the reactions of the participants, was very pleasant. During the evening, old recordings from Jaroslav Hadash's archive, which were taken from magic shows, were shown.
Since Saturday morning, magic was performed only in the Culture Club. Before the start of the first competition block at 10 am, visitors could take a photo with the mascot of the Children-Culture-Sport Foundation in the foyer of the club or also in our magic wall. The competition was divided into the following categories: micromagic, stage magic under 18 and stage magic over 18. For the best competitor there was a Grand Prix prize combined with a financial amount of 5.000 CZK. In addition, the Jury Prize and the Mayor's Prize were awarded.
Michal Fridrich, Tomáš Juřík, Sonia Zvelebilová, Jiří Krejčí, Aleš Březina, Karel Pomahač, Filip Stružka, Jakub Koutský.
Dušan Cápa, Jiří Bolgáč, Martin Hodůľ, Pavel Křižan, Radek Stach, Jana Hostičková, Bill Cheung, Mai Thanh Trung, Radek Vylíčil, Aleš Hrdlička.
All competitors were evaluated by an expert jury composed of PhDr. Alexander Gerič (SK) - chairman of the jury, Mgr. Petr Kravčík (CZ), Jaroslav Hadaš (CZ), Istvan Giczi (HU), Tom Gryf (CZ), Ondřej Pšenička (CZ). This jury then gave valuable advice to the contestants after each competition block on how and what they could improve, what they could omit, and what they could enrich their program with. Jirka Hadaš conducted the morning session and Adrianka Geričová the afternoon session.
Adell Magic Fest 2011 culminated with the Magic Gala Show. We tried to make this evening magical not only for the public, but also for the magicians, so we approached not only interesting performers, but Jirka Hadaš used his friendship and invited actress Dana Morávková and singer Petr Kotvald as a presenting partner, but he apologized in advance for time reasons. As a substitute, we managed to invite the finalist of Czech-Slovak Superstar 2011, singer Alžběta Kolečkářová. Throughout the evening, prizes were continuously awarded to the best participants in each category. Aleš Hrdlička, Šmoulové from DD Uherské Hradiště, Martina Pecková, Magic Alex, Duo Mardzanis, Jiří Hadaš and Vendy, magician Mišuge, Alena Smolíková and Keysi, clown Bublín and Julius Nemeš enchanted the audience during the gala evening.
After the gala program, all participants and guests were invited to a banquet at the dulcimer, during which a popular raffle was organized for the magicians. We managed to secure more than 100 prizes, so everyone could win. The special raffle prize, live rabbits, was donated by Master Šmeli (Milan Šmelko).
